Main Responsibilities:

  • Design a high speed Microcontroller circuit with: serial ADC interfaces; Ethernet interface and large memory buffer to the specified functional and performance requirements.
  • Program the Microcontroller in C or Assembler for design proving and production test routines.
  • Alternatively, realise the functional and performance requirements using a FPGA design solution.
  • Liaise with the Software Engineer to agree the use of in-built peripheral devices and functions.
  • Design for low power consumption and low emitted and conducted noise.
  • Design in Built-in-Test functions
  • Produce a full manufacturing drawing pack
  • Produce an interface control document for the benefit of the firmware design (defining the available functionality and specifying special to type registers, register and memory maps)
  • Manage the PEC design and manufacture
  • Liaise with other team members to establish board size, shape and connector positions
  • Prove the design through thorough testing
  • Provide an assurance of quality, robustness and reliability
  • Design the shore side data interface

Essential:

  • High speed Microcontroller circuit design
  • Use of CAD packages for circuit schematic and electro-mechanical documentation
