Description
We are currently in need of a Network Security Engineer to join our client on an exciting contract opportunity. The successful candidate will need to assist in the design and implementation of all network and network security technologies. This role will also include general supervision and maintaining information security systems to protect internal company systems, databases, and networks.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Performs daily maintenance and operations functions of Firewalls.
- May install and configure network security components in addition to log reviews and analysis.
- Provides troubleshooting and resolutions to security related network issues as well as responds to network outages and emergencies on an on-call basis.
- Performs regularly scheduled security assessments and provides detail reports and remediation recommendations.
- Conducts industry research and provided recommendations for emerging trends and network security practices.
Job Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- 3 years enterprise class experience with Cisco PIX/ASA Firewalls.
- Sidewinder G2 Firewall experience also preferred.
- Minimum of five years experience in related field or
- An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- A seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of area of specialization. Works on moderately complex and diverse projects. Demonstrates good judgement in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
- Strong knowledge of information security systems to safeguard the company's internal systems and databases.
- Strong knowledge of testing procedures for information security systems.
- Strong verbal and written communications skills.
- Able to safeguard systems and databases from unauthorized access, unapproved usage, and threats to functionality/operation.
- Able to keep abreast of changes within the information security field.
- Able to work with confidential materials and employee information and maintain confidentiality at all times
