Description
Our client is a signature Pacific Northwest GAMES company seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to be responsible for designing, implementing and maintaining server hardware and software to support corporate and online gaming initiatives.
OVERVIEW:
- Responsible for developing and implementing system baseline standards such as OS configuration, backup/recovery clients, anti-virus, and health monitors
- Support existing server virtualization infrastructure
- Research and evaluate new hardware and software solutions to support business objectives
- Maintain and monitor data center environments, including AC power, UPS, and HVAC (CRAC)
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience administrating enterprise server environments, including Windows and Linux hosts
- Proven experience in IT infrastructure planning and deployment
- Basic understanding of AC power systems, UPS, and HVAC
- Technical knowledge of current network, hardware, protocols and standards including TCP/IP, Ethernet, DNS, DHCP, SMTP, HTTP, SNMP, VPN, CIFS, NFS, SSH
- Experience with script-based server administration using Scripting languages such as Perl and Windows Scripting a plus
- Red Hat Certified Technician or Red Hat Certified Engineer or MCSE a plus
- Strong written and oral communications
- Proven analytical, evaluative and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
- Ability to conduct and direct research into IT issues and products as required
- High level of self-motivation
This contract position is expected to be 1 year in duration.
