This position will work with the Software Engineering and Quality Assurance teams to create automated tests for functional White Box and Black Box testing as well as load and stress testing. The goal is to ensure quality code in all features and bug fix releases. This candidate will increase the high quality coding standards and refine procedures for functional and stress testing of a new product, support tools and in-game code. Expertise in object-oriented programming and various web technologies is a must for this position.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design and create automated tests for White Box and Black Box testing
  • Create test processes for new and existing software products
  • Maintain ongoing automated test suite for code integrity
  • Find and report issues/bugs
  • Design and conduct load, stress and coverage tests of components developed by Software Engineering
  • Define and enforce requirements for an operationally completely system

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's Degree (Computer Science or related field preferred)
  • 5+ years Quality Assurance and/or Software Engineering experience
  • Background in automated functional testing
  • Extensive knowledge in object-oriented programming skills and design principles
  • Extensive programming experience in Java or other OOP language
  • Experience with coding, Scripting languages (eg Java, Python, C++, JavaScript, HTML, MySQL)
  • Experience using Functional Automated test tools, (eg Selenium, TestComplete, etc.)
  • Knowledge of performance/load test tools (eg OpenSTA, JMeter, Grinder, etc.)
  • Knowledge of different web protocols (including JSON)
  • Familiar with source control software (eg CVS, SVN, Perforce)
  • Experience benchmarking or profiling
  • Extensive experience with SQL and Relational Databases like SQL Server/MySQL
  • Working knowledge of web technologies including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Jquery, XML
  • Strong Excel and reporting skills; proven knowledge of executing and reporting on multiple projects within a tight timeline
  • Task oriented ability to set realistic milestones and work towards successful completion of targets set
  • Ability to create solid plans, templates, and strategies for both automation and load testing
  • Familiarity with Agile team development, continuous integration, waterfall and SDLC methodologies
  • Previous experience includes software engineering and online game experience a plus
  • Creative and resourceful when it comes to problem solving, devising creative ways of automating effectively, and improving team processes and efficiencies
  • Knowledge of production and technical development project life cycles
  • Ability to define or redefine processes if existing processes are inefficient or need to be created
  • Collaborative and positive working style; able to respond to project demands with creativity and enthusiasm
  • Strong communication skills with experience working with, and taking direction from, remotely located teams
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and inspire a technical team
  • Entrepreneurial and self-motivated

This contract position is expected to be 9 months in duration.
