Responsibilities for this Intermediate PM include:
1) Provide project management for project team members, set achievable objectives, maintain a positive outlook, take responsibility, make decisions, and provide constructive feedback.
2) Build, track and monitor project plan(s) using either MS Project or NIKU Workbench to ensure that the project is on schedule and budget and that it remains so.
3) Define and document project scope and requirements.
4) Ensure project data is accurate and available for review by management and unsure that management is proactively informed of potential problems and risks so that they can be mitigated or resolved before they become insurmountable.
5) Utilize a proactive change control process.
6) Use negotiation skills to achieve successful project outcomes around issues, scope, schedule, costs/budget and resources.
7) Manage the project funding/budget process.
8) Matrix manages project team members from other groups who supply resources and services to the project.

This position requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or Management Information Systems or equivalent experience. Required is 5+ years of information technology experience that includes a broad understanding of IT infrastructure. Candidates should have 3+ years progressive experience as a project manager that includes managing implementations of medium moderately complex projects. The candidate should possess a strong customer focus and excellent verbal and written communication skills; the ability to monitor and manage vendor performance; and excellent relationship building and management skills.

Preferred skills for this role include:
Broad understanding of capital construction projects gained through professional services consulting and/or project management; Project management of at least five medium-scaled or one large-scale capital construction project or medium-scale company-wide initiative; Demonstrated costumer focus; And a general understanding of the health care industry.

The National Facilities Services Business Information Office (NFS BIO) was formed in 2006 to represent in support of the NFS organization and multi-year, multi-billion dollar capital construction strategy. This strategy includes upgrading/expanding/replacing facilities in order to continue providing high quality, convenient and affordable care to our 8.6 million members; expanding into new geographic areas in support of future membership growth; embracing new, emerging and future technology; bringing services in-house to improve the quality and affordability of care; and satisfying seismic regulatory requirements. These initiatives involve a spend of nearly $36B and will generate a demand of approximately $350-$400M worth of IT equipment and services on an annual basis. The NFS BIO is ultimately responsible for the delivery of products/services for our capital (facilities) projects; the construction of Hospitals, Medical Office Building, Central Utility Plants, Call Centers, Data Centers and maintenance/repair for hundreds of facilities; and the delivery of all IT infrastructure, equipment and applications required to operationalize facilities.

This position consistently supports compliance and the Principles of Responsibility ( Code of Conduct) by maintaining the privacy and confidentiality of information, protecting the assets of the organization, acting with ethics and integrity, reporting non-compliance, and adhering to applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations, accreditation and licenser requirements (if applicable), and policies and procedures.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (listed in order of importance):
(Please keep in mind that the candidate selected for hire must meet all of the qualifications listed as basic)
1.) 5+ years of Information Technology experience that includes a broad understand of IT infrastructure
2.) 3+ years of progressive experience as a project manager that includes managing implementation of medium to large moderately complex to complex projects
3.) Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or Management Information System or 4 years of equivalent work experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (listed in order of importance):

1.) Past management of projects utilizing MS-Project
2.) Broad understanding of capital construction projects
3.) Project management of at least one large-scale capital construction project or large-scale companywide initiative
5.) Familiarity with NIKU/RPM
6.) Familiarity with Powerpoint and Visio
7.) General understanding of the health care industry
8.) PMP Certification
