Senior Scripter
For one of our projects in Luxembourg we have an opening for an experienced Scripter.DESCRIPTION OF TASKS     Sequencing and packaging of software applications. The production of application packages is based on a procedure that follows these steps:
    Gathering required information from the development teams  or the concerned vendor (installation prerequisites, how to install, how to launch the application, ),
    Initial sequencing
    Technical and integration testing,
    move to a pre-production environment,
    organization and follow-up of functional tests with key users,
    documentation and registration of packages developed,
    move of accepted packages to production.
    Packages can require the development of specific procedures or tools (written in the most appropriate language) to facilitate the distribution.
    Activities comprise the maintenance of existing packages, eg with regard to subsequent application releases, updates and security bulletins. All such changes must be examined and can again trigger the sequencing workflow.
    Support needs to be provided for the existing packages across the Commission's computing environment, including problem diagnosis, resolution and reporting via the central helpdesk. The support is organized in an ITIL compliant manner.
    The tasks comprise the maintenance of a package repository that contains all relevant information for packages that have been delivered to production (source and run-time code, specifications, documents)
    Development of technical documentation (compilation of user guides, documentation of procedures)OTHER PRECISIONS     Proven in the above mentioned tasks is essential.
    Good knowledge of application virtualization using the Microsoft Application Virtualization technology (SoftGrid)
    Familiarity with Microsoft installation technologies (eg MSI) and related tools (eg InstalSlhield) is an asset.
    Very good knowledge of the Microsoft Windows operating systems family (Windows XP, Windows Server 2003, desirably also Windows Vista).
    Good knowledge of networking (TCP/IP, Dial-up networking, VPN), Windows Networking and the Active Directory (Group Policies etc.)
    Familiarity with common Microsoft Scripting languages (eg VBscript, WSH) and programming languages (eg C++, C#, VB.NET, etc.)
    Expertise in software production/management and in software documentation and reporting.
    Familiarity with software distribution tools (eg LANDesk).
    English and/or French (spoken), technical writing skills in English and/or French
    Ability to participate in multi-lingual meetings (English and French spoken), ease of communication in technical matters.
    Certification of ITIL for service delivery and service support is considered an asset.We offer:Freelance contract or Permanent contract
