A Leading Insurance Organisation is looking to recruit a Senior Programme Planner on an interim basis. You will be required to implement a programme planning system across a Finance Change Portfolio consisting of circa 10 large programmes worth approximately £30 - £40 million.

The successful applicant will:

  • Be a very experienced Senior Programme and Project planner who is fluent in Microsoft Project to expert level.
  • Have the ability to "pull up" plans to higher levels so that a set of high level tracking milestones can be presented to senior management to demonstrate progress.
  • Be "hands-on" and willing to work with the Project Managers to implement the plans.
  • Have extensive programme planning experience within a complex environment.
  • Have the ability to build and maintain excellent relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Have strong analytical and reasoning skills.
  • Have experience of working in a busy environment whilst maintaining a high degree of accuracy and meeting tight deadlines.
  • Have good ability to continuously prioritise and adapt to a changing environment.
  • Have strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Have excellent use of Microsoft Project.
    Have good understanding of the core planning tools and importance of data integrity.
  • Have good understanding of project life cycle and impact of change.
You will need to:
  • Have an Insurance background, Solvency II knowledge would be extremely beneficial.
  • Produce integrated plans, incorporating plans from multiple projects, clearly mapping deliverables and dependencies so that these can be managed effectively.
  • Monitor and review integration plans, both from projects and proactively identify potential conflicts or integration issues.
  • Lead on resolving issues in collaboration with the Programme Manager.
  • Understand and communicate the impact on the plan of failure to the Programme Manager: Critical path analysis.
  • Lead on resolving issues and solving problems with the plans.
  • Ensure that issues are escalated where necessary and that progress is tracked and followed up.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to resolve conflicts and facilitate collaborative decision making.
  • Define the project planning standards and templates.
  • Define the dependency management process.
  • Define the integrated planning method and process.
  • Facilitate planning workshops with the project managers/Programme Managers.
  • Manage the production and maintenance of plans on a page.
