IT SAP Analyst

DESCRIPTIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

Position Overview:

The Analyst will be the day to day link between operations and IT. The job purpose is to improve the business requirements capture coming from the various process leads, to help the business in identifying the right opportunities in line with automation and standardization strategies, to prioritize the demand, and to coordinate the further work with the IT delivery teams. This role requires extended experience in major financial processes and software solutions (primarily SAP ERP, BW). The role will be based in Co Louth.

KEY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Analyse business requirements (eg, functional and technical requirements, information need, business processes) by conducting information-gathering sessions with clients, analysing the information and prioritizing the requirements to gain understanding of the business needs. Act as a link person between process leads and GIT (30%).
  • For local (EG) and Global programs, perform system and integration testing including the functionality, performance and fit to ensure that it meets the original requirements and works within the defined constraints. Report progress on IT activities to GIT Program Managers through regular routines (30%).
  • Identify application knowledge gaps, and perform training to close such gaps (10%).
  • Perform problem and trend analysis to identify and correct repetitive problems and increase overall system availability (10%).
  • When subject matter expertise allows, manage individual RFS (Request for Services) or projects (10%).
  • Provide support (eg, break/fix, how to expertise, minor enhancements, monitoring, testing) for business applications or infrastructure (10%).

Key technical skills are around Finance applications and best practices, strong analytical skills in order to find and pro-actively propose system improvements.

Technical Skills

  • Best practice expertise in SAP Financial solutions supporting AR, Intercompany, General Ledger, Legal Entity Reporting, Business Travel Management, Tax, Accounts Payable, Billing, Opex, Controls and Compliance, Treasury, Management Reporting.
  • Key Financial Systems knowledge. Knowledge of basic systems and all
    related aspects (eg, system tools, management principles, platforms, software, hardware, related products and controls) required to design, implement and maintain solutions. Platforms include SAP, Business Warehouse, Microsoft Sharepoint and Reporting
  • Process Modelling: Knowledge of process modelling procedures and the ability to decompose business processes by taking into account software and system capabilities and to ensure reuse, integration, maintainability and efficiency.
  • Release Management: Ability to manage software releases incorporating new functionality, changes to existing functionality, software upgrades, other changes simultaneously to multiple global systems.
  • Customer Focus: Making customers (external and internal) and their needs a primary focus of one's actions; developing and sustaining productive customer relationships; creating and executing plans and solutions in collaboration with the customer.
  • Application Security Tools: Knowledge of and ability to use application security tools.

Educational Requirements:

  • Third level Bachelor's Degree is essential.
  • Minimum 10 year's working experience preferably within a Multinational and shared services environment.
  • 5 - 10 years' experience with Regional Finance Center related processes and tools.
  • Accounting qualification/experience an advantage.
