Your duties will involve:
*Be responsible for the maintenance of the machinery, buildings and grounds.
*Periodically inspect conditions of plant operating machines and equipment providing servicing and replacement of parts according to schedule including oiling and cleaning machinery and parts in line with a preventative maintenance program.
*Detect faulty operation, diagnose malfunction and provide Remedy or report to supervision. Maintain specific records of work performed. Provide details of repairs and material usage.
*Maintenance and repair operations to maintain the physical plant, plant machinery, equipment and auxiliaries in proper operating condition or arranging for replacement machinery or equipment to be installed.
*Plan, layout and perform installations to a high standard. Move, level, align and secure machines, equipment and auxiliaries as required.
*Install various attachments such as pumps, ducts motors, guards and other plant related accessories.
*Perform plumbing and pipe fitting installations,
*Finding and fixing faults and recalibrating instruments to make sure they are accurate.
*Use a variety of precision measuring instruments and considerable judgment to diagnose, dismantle, repair, lubricate and reassemble units or otherwise work on general and technical maintenance, hydraulics, pneumatics, pipe fitting, mechanical assembly and installations.
*Responding immediately to breakdowns.
*Installation and commissioning new equipment. This work involves the assignment to mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and fluidic repairs and new construction operations required for installation and assembly of all new machinery and equipment, connections such as air/argon and electrical power supply service, plumbing, anchoring and leveling.
*Perform diversified and somewhat difficult work including analytical troubleshooting and complex maintenance functions.
*Work with drawings, sketches machine operation manuals, work order requests and oral instruction.
*Be responsible for purchasing of parts necessary to fulfil the requirements of the maintenance department and to control of the maintenance spend.
*Keeping production supervision updated.
*Organising your work to make sure equipment downtime is kept to an absolute minimum.
*Perform welding and brazing as related to maintenance requirements.
*Set up and operate engineering equipment such as the lathe, milling machine, drilling machine and grinding machine to repair or fabricate replacement parts.
*Requisition tools and supplies for the machining and maintenance requirements.
*Maintain equipment and workplace in a neat and orderly condition.
*Maintain the maintenance store in an organized manner to ensure parts are accessible, identified and maintained.
*Perform other similar or related duties as assigned in accordance with workload priorities.

Hours and environment
You'll normally work a 40 hours week. 8am to 4.30pm with an unpaid 30 minutes break.
You will be paid monthly in arrears.
You could be working indoors in the factory or outdoors maintaining the grounds and buildings. You'll wear protective safety clothing as required and observe the Health and Safety requirements.
