Interim job description
Provides 24/7 support and leads the maintenance and enhancement tasks required for assigned systems under Law and Justice Information Systems (LJIS), specifically, Criminal System, Justice Automated Warrant System, Judicial Branch Statistical Information System, Juvenile Court and Probation Statistical System, Disposition Reporting System, and Public Defender System.

Day to Day:
Evaluates and assesses client needs, identifies and recommends resources and sets project priorities
Provides assistance to and monitors progress of junior members of the development team.
Prepares enhancement specifications and develop applications identifying problems and issues and recommending solutions
Participates in the evaluation and testing of system upgrades; installs or upgrades software applications; and troubleshoots hardware and software related problems
Creates test data and performs necessary tests to validate the accuracy of expected results
Accurately codes new, or modifies existing programs
Prepares requests for proposals, work with vendors and make recommendation for vendor selections.
Participates in quality assurance procedures for information systems services and reviews new vendor software for compliance with established standards
Accurately implements assigned tasks within estimated times and costs
Provides technical assistance to system customers in accordance with the applicable work unit's policies, procedures, methods and techniques
Meets with customer(s) to discuss and document requests for service or to present information system solutions to business problems
Performs a variety of analysis duties in the design, implementation and maintenance of assigned information systems or applications
Monitors and tracks projects by comparing estimates to the actual times and costs and reports on progress or problems encountered on application development or enhancement. Genuent USA (formerly Segula technologies) has a need to hire a Programmer Analyst (IDMS, Cobol) for the Martinez, California area.
Start ASAP and work for ~ 6 months or longer (possibility of going perm).
