Background
The Software License Manager leads the essential E2E Software licence management tasks of the team enabling them to meet customer demands to deliver Software licenses to internal and external customers globally in a timely & efficient manner. This includes helping the team to distribute sometimes physically software to our external customers. The client is in progress to transfer all software licenses to a new global Software licenses service.
Tasks
The Software License Manager will own processes to perform:
- Collect requirements from Portfolio and C&P on Sw License Entitlments relative to contractual agreements
- Controlled distribution of software licenses and applications packages to internal and external parties
- Deployment of Sw Licenses relative to contractual agreements
- License and maintenance payment & approval
- Monitoring of Software License actual usage
This role is also key to support protected access to the client's Intellectual Property (IP) and prevent intentional or unintentional disallowed use. This can be for commercial reasons, for competitor reasons and for export regulation reasons.
Part of the role involves a blend of routine administrative specifically focussed on 3 different types of software distribution to our customer. It requires someone which can work unsupervised, accurate and has a good attention to detail, alongside a patient & engaging personaility to deal with customers at all levels.
While the Software License Manager will initially report to the Application Services teamlead, this will change during the transition of services to the department that will further develop the current service.
Requirements
Licence Management
- Experience in performing License generation tasks through Excel, Access and license meter (USB dongle)
- Experience with Safenet/Sentinel/FlexLM
- Experience in distribution, monitoring usage and processing payments of software licenses
Administration - master eg attention to detail, meets deadlines, set priorities
Confidentiality - skilled eg will be working with sensitive technical information
Self-motivated - skilled eg will often work unsupervised and with application owners at a distance'
Interpersonal - skilled eg needs to negotiate with colleagues, mainly via email, to arrange correct approval
Languages - fluent spoken & written NL/English
Oil&Gas industry experience is preferred but not essential.
