Our client one of the worlds leading Oil & Gas exploration companies is actively looking to recruit a Materials and Corrosion Engineer to join the team in Tullos Aberdeen. The Materials and Corrosion team is a team of 12 engineers and is an integral part of the Functional Services orginisations and provides services to both the Project and Asset Upstream orginisations across Europe.

The vacancy is with the Offshore Asset team a team of 4 engineers; the contract is for 12 months but is likely to be extended.

Primary Role:
To provide specialist materials and corrosion engineering support within a multi-discipline functional services team. Specific areas for attention will include improvement of pipeline integrity management, development and implementation of strategies for CUI, fabric maintenance and passive fire protection, and improved management of microbial corrosion.

Accountabilities:
Ensure efficient and effective corrosion management of the facilities using existing corrosion management systems and processes. Additionally provide support in the areas of materials selection, failure analysis, and corrosion monitoring to the Asset. The scope primarily covers topsides facilities and pipelines.

Requirements:
Higher education qualification in metallurgy, materials science, chemical engineering or related discipline is preferred, but candidates with appropriate experience will also be considere Chartered Engineer status and relevant experience in Offshore Oil and Gas Operations is preferred.

It is envisaged that the candidate will be able to demonstrate practical application of expertise complemented by a sound education in materials and corrosion. The incumbent should be an enthusiastic self-starter who can demonstrate a record of achievement, good interpersonal and communication skills. The incumbent is expected to make occasional offshore visits when necessary and should hold appropriate offshore certificates.
