Summit Sustainable is in the market for a planning and project controls Engineers to join a major player in the District Heating Sector who have grown substantially over the past three years and envisage doubling in size again in the next couple of years.
As the Planning and controls Engineer, the successful applicant will provide project planning and engineering support to the community energy team. You will prepare base/feasibility information for project plans for designs and build schemes
You will assist in the preparation detailed project plans for design and build schemes in construction within large district heating schemes, ensure that all projects remain updated and on progress and assist in the production of project proposal reports based on critical path analysis, earned values and project actually progress.
What's more you will ensure that all project specific programmes are cost and resources loaded, produce and maintain an overall project programme indicating all live projects and produce monthly management reports.
This is a challenging role with a great opportunity to manage around 5 projects concurrently with each project value being in the c. £5 - 45 million range and running for 6-48 months.
Applicants will be welcomes from those who can demonstrate:
- Strong project planning engineering experience. You would have worked in a planning management role.
- Strong experience in project controls and planning
- Strong experience in planning including critical path analysis, earned value reports, claims and delay analysis
- Prior use of project planning tools including MS Project, Asta Power Project, Primavera P6
- Financial and Commercial acumen
Ideally you will also hold an engineering qualification, be a member of an appropriate institution and CSC carded would be desirable,
