Materials Engineer/Metallurgist - Cambridge - 3 months
My client is looking for a Materials Engineer/Metallurgist.
Responsibilities will include:
- Analysis and investigation of components and systems originating from an engine and vehicle.
- Detailed investigations of field failure returns.
- Testing of manufacturing lines.
- Testing of components from new suppliers.
- Material selection leadership.
- Investigative reports.
Essential:
- Failure analysis skills.
- Materials Engineering/Metallurgy degree.
- Forensic material failure investigations.
- Knowledge of Metallographic preparation techniques, SEM/EDX, Optical Microscopy and NDT.
- Ferrous and aluminium based alloys knowledge.
Preferable:
- Metallurgical joining.
- Polymeric and engine components knowledge.
- Auditing and 8D problem solving.
