Our Durham, NC Health Care Leader client has an immediate 6+ contract requirement for a Section 508 Web Compliance Analyst with 3+ years of solid experience ensuring that websites are Section 508-compliant. This contract is scheduled to run through December, 2012 and could be extended into 2013.
In this role, you will conduct assessments and ongoing audits and provide remediation recommendations and support to ensure that external-facing web pages and applications are compliant with all required government standards. In addition, this position will be responsible for updating Section 508 compliance processes and educating others on how to implement and test web pages and applications for Section 508 compliance.
* Develop and document internal processes for web design, development, and testing to ensure compliance with Section 508 requirements
* Conduct in-depth Section 508 assessments via manual reviews and using automated test tools and assistive technologies
* Compile reports concerning failures in Section 508 compliance and ways to remediate
* Review Section 508 compliance defects with developers and discuss possible resolutions
* Monitor resolution of Section 508 compliance violations
* Provide expert advice to other teams testing web pages and applications for Section 508 compliance
* Assist project teams with understanding how Section 508 and accessibility activities fit within the project life cycles
* Partner with project leads and requirements analysts to help them appropriately document and deliver against requirements for Section 508 compliance
* Stay up-to-date on the latest Section 508 testing and automated tool information
* Provide consultative support across the company for Section 508 compliance information

Minimum Required Skills:
* 3-5 years of website design and implementation experience, with at least 1 year spent working on websites/web applications to make them Section 508 compliant
* Clear understanding of Section 508 of the Americans with Disabilities Act, and the techniques needed to comply with these requirements
* Experience working with Section 508 compliance assistive tools such as JAWS, Window-Eyes and/or WAVE
* Experience testing websites and web applications for Section 508 compliance
* Proven ability to identify compliance violations and recommend technical solutions to remediate them
* Experience defining, documenting and implementing Section 508 compliance development and testing processes
* Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat Professional
Preferred Skills:
* Business strategy or analyst experience with Web consulting or business consulting firm a plus
* Demonstrated passion for the Web and the role it can play in growing business and increasing customer retention
* Experience with current online technologies (Web, Chat, Email, Social Media, Mobile, Search Engine Optimization, etc.)
* Broad understanding of Web best practices, Web application design, and Web development processes
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, including ability to interpret and present both qualitative and quantitative data.
* Ability to quickly synthesize complex issues to drive effective decision making
* Excellent verbal and written business communications skills
* Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work well with diverse project teams and across functional areas
* Familiarity with the CMS Medicare Marketing Guidelines would be a big plus!
* Health care insurance industry experience preferred
