My client based in Glasgow is currently seeking a Systems Development Officer to assist in the development, testing, implementation and maintenance of the Service's Financial and HR Systems within a framework of corporate policies and service standards and carry out the responsibilities of the post in the most economic and effective manner, complying with the principles of Best Value.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Take a leading role in planning, development and delivery of enhanced functionality through user definable setup and configuration for medium sized projects.
  • Assist the development of the overall strategy and development plan for Financial and HR Systems within the service.
  • The planning, development and delivery of Management Information through the use of reporting tools and techniques available within the Service.
  • The planning, development and delivery of in-house systems training courses.
  • The planning, development and execution of functional testing in accordance with legislative requirements and agreed test plans.
  • The provision of frontline support and guidance to all system users
  • The investigation, reporting and resolution of system faults.
  • The control and maintenance of user access to the service's financial and HR systems in accordance with set guidelines.
  • The control and maintenance of standing data eg account codes, cost centres, grade tables, elements, pick lists, global values.
  • To liaise with all relevant parties both externally and within the Service as appropriate eg attendance at meetings, written and verbal communication.
  • To comply with the Service's Health and Safety Policy and Procedures.
  • To comply with the Service's Equal Opportunities Policy.
  • To carry out any other duties consistent with the post as may be required by the Chief Officer.
