Description
A Federal Government Agency currently requires a Senior Storage Administrator to join their team. This role is initially a 3 month contract, with view to extend for a further 6 months.
Responsibilities of this role will include:
- Support NetApp Storage and IBM TSM Infrastructure.
- Design Storage solutions for Projects and BAU, implement designs including sourcing hardware from vendors, provisioning of disk, providing backup capability via IBM TSM and DR site SnapMirror replication.
- Regular Data Ontap Upgrades and Patching of IBM TSM.
- Upgrading with Vendor support NetApp Controllers and Disk shelves.
- Upgrade of IBM TSM Server Hardware.
- The migration of NetApp FlexVolumes from End of Life disk shelves.
- Migration of hosts onto VLANs. Training of junior staff and documentation of procedures.
Skills and experience required:
- NetApp NAS experience.
- ISCI, NFS and CIFS Protocols.
- IBM Tivoli Storage Manager (TSM) experience.
- UNIX and Windows Server and Scripting experience.
- Networking knowledge, particularly port aggregation, VLANs and protocols.
- Documentation, communication and team skills.
