Role: Project Planner
Skills: Project Planner - Financial Services - Large Business Change Programme
Overview:
Our client, a major UK retail bank, require the services of a Project Planner to assist in a programme of work to divest a portion of their credit card book.
Core duties of the role:
The role is to support planning and plan reporting activity within the Credit Cards workstream of the banks divestment programme. A significant part of the role is concerned with reporting of the work streams activity to senior levels in the divestment programme and as such operates within a number of deadlines each week.
Maintain plan weekly
- Regular task and milestone tracking, including slippage commentary preparation and review
- Plan enhancements for major exercises or team re plan insertions
- Weekly plan submissions to Central Planning function
- Upload of plan data to PM database system
- Support periodic progress meetings with plan content
- Reporting/analysis on specific milestone themes to PMOs and other parties
- Ad hoc plan extracts for team leaders and local PMO reporting
- Liaison with staff maintaining project dependencies
- Liaison with PMOs on introduction of changes to standards & guidelines
- Contribute to improvements to divestment programme and bank practices
- Investigate and undertake improvements to Credit Cards working practices.
Core skills and experience required:
- MS Project - significant previous experience including custom fields use; ideally an advanced user knowing macros handling and construction
- MS Office - esp. Excel - medium-advanced user
- Experience of previous large, multi-work stream programmes and complex project structures crossing business and IT
- Previous planning roles dealing with multiple teams reporting, and introduction of new practices
- MS SharePoint - basic knowledge
- Familiar with business change life cycles and the role of IT within them
- Ideally possess some familiarity with Credit Card issuer operations
Desirable Skills
- Financial services experience
- Self-starter - able to work with minimal supervision
- Challenger - willing to push back to originators of imposed material
- Good attention to detail
- Good communicator - verbally and in writing, possessing a good command of English
- Technically knowledgeable
