A number of exciting opportunities have arisen to join a high profile client, based in London and Liverpool. The Strategic Procurement Leads will offer advice and guidance on procurement strategy and also deliver procurement projects from the strategy to the award and transition phase.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead and deliver complex strategic procurement projects working across departments on a wide range of high profile initiatives
- Manage relationship with stakeholders to ensure that commercial objectives are met and that any risks and issues are fully understood
- Work with team to develop and produce optimum procurement strategy which maximises departmental savings
- Use lean procurement process to control and deliver procurements at pace
- Establish key performance metrics and report on progress with regular clear communications
- Manage and resolve risks and issues
Key Skills and Experiences:
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills in complex customer and supplier environments
- Experience of managing complex projects to deliver business objectives
- Strong working knowledge of EU procurement regulations
- In depth experience of strategy and planning in procurement and commercial environments
- Data analysis and reporting Knowledge. Prior experience of using physical data and information to create evidence based procurement strategies
- Experience of operating in Matrix teams
- Strong knowledge and experience of working large central government organisations
Candidates will preferably have had experience of working in the rail industry as well as within central government.
