Are you passionate about applying advanced computing techniques to derive meaning from large corpus of data? Our client is looking for smart engineer to work with the deep links feature on their high-visibility search engine, and help enable new experiences to further differentiate them as a "Decision Engine". You will have access to cutting edge infrastructure and technologies and vast corpus of diverse data sources. Your work will involve building tools to support these initiatives, mining large chunks of data to compute metrics, semantic understanding of queries and documents, extracting useful and actionable information from the documents. This position provides an opportunity to help creatively impact the experience of millions of users with novel search experiences.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Strong algorithm background and very good understanding on how to apply advanced knowledge to solve real problems
- Experience with large scale data processing and analysis to derive meaning
- Extensive software design and development skills/experience with C/C++/C#/Perl/Python/SQL (minimum 2 years, 4+ years preferred)
- Experience developing high-performance service-oriented solutions
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work independently and in a team to come up with innovative solutions to challenging business/technical problems
- Bachelor's degree or MS in Computer Science or equivalent required, PhD a plus
- Experience with informational retrieval, machine learning, and/or data mining a plus
This contract position is expected to be 1 year in duration.
