Our client is a hugely popular computer components manufacturer seeking a Validation Engineer for a great contract opportunity. The candidate will be working in a validation team creating and executing tests against a software storage product. The test environment is a Windows platform, as is the device under test, and a Windows platform for debugging failures. The storage product will emulate RAID Storage type failures, recovery, and high traffic IO.

OVERVIEW:

  • Creation of test scripts via basic script languages like batch, Perl and Python files and up to more advanced languages like C++ and C#
  • Test scripts used for running tests to validate data storage products
  • Debugging of setup issues as well as failures
  • Some test execution as needed for scrubbing tests
  • Writing up bug reports
  • Working with the Engineering and Development teams to debug and reproduce issues

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • RAID knowledge a must!
  • Knowledge of SAS/SATA basics
  • Experience in all Windows operating systems
  • Skills for debugging setup issues
  • Ability to build a server/PC system from scratch
  • Proficiency in one or more of the following programming languages: C, C++, C#
