Investment/Asset Management Data Specialist, 10 month contract, Docklands, London.
Key responsibilities:
- Provide business support to Data Strategy program from initiation through to the instigation of a Business Data Management Function incorporating data governance.
- Work with the Data Architect to ensure the conceptual data model translated into the business Information Model (data dictionary) and taking ownership of that model.
- Work with project managers to identify data usage for new projects ensuring they were in line with the wider data strategy. Communicate data issues to relevant business units
- Act as prime Business Objects Super User, driving and supporting the growth of the toolset throughout the business and providing business support to users. Identifying training opportunities and organising internal demos and external report creation courses
Skills
- Prior experience of working on a data mart/warehouse project
- Knowledge of investment management operations gained within an asset management environment, specifically around the understanding of data flows and usage
- Familiarity of data management/data governance principles and practices, ideally from working alongside business analysts or data architects;
- Business analysis/testing experience
- Excellent communication skills
- Pro-active approach with accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to work well under pressure and to tight deadlines
- Proficient user of Microsoft Project, Visio, PowerPoint, Excel and Word
