Job description
The business function of 300+ people is based across six geographical locations and provides a range of financial control and reporting shared services for the Finance community. This framework of a central provision of standardised and transactional support activities enables the Finance teams within the business to concentrate on strategic and advisory roles relevant to their specific business.
This role is for a manager in Accounting Control, which is part of Statutory and Regulatory Reporting. The successful candidate will be part of a team that provides accounting services to companies and business units in the group. These services include performing reconciliations, posting journals, and management accounts for some subsidiaries. Key customers for the team are Commercial Finance, Asset Finance, Private Banking, the Agricultural Mortgage Corporation, HR and Group Property.
Key accountabilities
* Management of a team of direct reports including objective setting and 1-2-1 reviews
* Review of daily and monthly reconciliations
* Review of daily and monthly journals
* Review of other ad hoc work as provided by the team
* Maintaining a good customer relationship with business units, advising where necessary
* Leading continuous process improvement
* Review of monthly management information
