SENIOR SOFTWARE ENGINEER (FIX/OMEGA, JAVA, C#)
My client, a well known Investment Bank in Central London, is urgently seeking a Senior Software Engineer (FIX/Omega, Java, C#) to join their team on a contract basis.
To be considered, the Senior Software Engineer (FIX/Omega, Java, C#) must have excellent Java and good C# software development skills, a strong background in messaging systems (FIX and Tibco Rendezvous), and experience in a financial services development environment.
The Senior Software Engineer (FIX/Omega, Java, C#) will be responsible for design, implementation and ongoing development of all technology supporting high frequency/intra-day FIX messaging flows to include DMA and Care for Equities and FX and where applicable, quantitative strategies. This includes interfacing with various trading engines, high speed messaging and market and broker connectivity.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS:
* Excellent Java skills (3-5 years)
* Good C# skills
* FIX (preferably Cameron FIX)
* General messaging and distributed system experience
* RMDS
* SQL & database experience
* Experience of developing Real Time messaging systems
* Equity and FX knowledge
* Basic knowledge of the financial markets
* Windows & Linux
* The candidate must be able to demonstrate initiative, be bright, a self starter and self motivated. Proactive, pragmatic and flexible
* Ability to work under pressure and within a environment of rapid change
* Team player. (Excellent communications skills, including written)
DESIRED SKILLS:
* OO analysis & design, design patterns
* Agile development techniques (test driven development, refactoring etc.)
* Exposure to agile practises (Iterative approach to development, Continuous Integration, TDD)
* Good understanding of network communication (TCP/IP) and their impact on latency
* Development experience for Front Office systems
