Cornwallis Elt is currently looking for a Functional BA with SQL Scripting and Testing Cycle skills for a contract role in Brussels. This is a 9-month contract role starting ASAP with strong possibility of extension.
Company background
Our client, a locally based financial services company, has a number of IT related projects ongoing. This role will be part of their Regulatory led FS projects so previous Banking, Commercial Lending or Financial Services experience is required.
Main responsibilities in the role:
- To work in the Functions IT department, and will act as the intermediary between the development teams and the business analysts.
- Review business requirements and functional specifications beside the business analysts.
- Decide what must be tested and define the test strategy, as well as creating test scenarios and scripts including automated tests.
- Be able to communicate test results to stakeholders.
- Investigate anomalies and propose solutions to them.
- Work alongside developers in order to gain an understanding of technical design and the manner in which the functional specifications have been implemented.
The right candidate will possess the following attributes:
- Due to the fact that this is a contract role based in Belgium, Dutch or French language skills are desirable.
- Further to this, the ideal candidate will be endowed with strong soft skills including the ability to work as part of a team, strong communication skills, as well as good analytical abilities.
- A strong knowledge of banking products and liquidity are essential.
- You must be able to work independently, in an organised fashion.
- A proven ability to use BA methodology such as AGILE, ITIL or Prince 2, and testing such as Mercury Test Director is essential to the role.
- Knowledge of ETL, SQL Scripting, SSRS, Oracle PL/SQL and JAVA are an advantage.
