Description: Mid-level Test Software Automation Developer
The midlevel Test Software Automation Developer to assists the successful completion of software projects by developing and executing software testing components, manual tests and developing automation solutions throughout the software development life cycle to identify issues on the software under test. The test tools and components developed include, but not limited to; load and performance test tools, data generators, simulator tools, application modelling tools, API/Interface testing tools, Back End job testing tools and automation development. The midlevel Test Software Automation Developer is also actively involved in test plan/strategy development, test case development, test results analysis, defect reporting, requirements review, test case review, code review and software architecture review.
Responsibilities
- Execute manual tests.
- Develop scripts, utilities, simulators, data generators and other programmatic test tools as required to execute tests.
- Automation development and test solutions development.
- Create test plans and test strategies.
- Create and execute test cases based on test strategies and test plans.
- Participate in reviews of system architecture, code and design documents.
- Effectively communicate testing activities and findings in oral and written formats.
- Identify risks and to develop mitigation strategies.
- Perform load and performance tests.
Requirements
- Good understanding and 3+ years of experience with testing process, test types and testing methodologies.
- Good understanding and 2+ years of experience with Object Oriented Design. 4+ years of experience with programming in either C/C++, Java, C#, Ruby.
- Good understanding and application of algorithms. Good understanding and 2+ years of experience with SQL and relational database design.
- Familiarity of core Computer Science technologies. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Experience with the Unix/Linux environment.
- Understanding of common development technologies (AJAX, J2EE/.NET, Javascript, HTML, XML/XSL, Web Services [SOAP, REST] etc)
Education and Experience
- BS in Computer Science and/or Engineering.
