The Role
The Financial Processing Finance Manager will be a qualified accountant with strong exposure to card payment processing and regulation within a financial services environment. The Finance Manager will be expected to manage a team of c40 FTE who, collectively, are responsible for the reconciliation and control of circa 220 customer accounts, the processing of payments to merchant accounts (approx 500,000 per annum) and the recovery of Streamline technical debt Review. The Financial Processing Finance Manager will also challenge processes to improve control and efficiency across the financial processing area.

Key Accountabilities

  • Oversee the control of billing and technical debt collection for customers.
  • Ensure sectional targets in terms of debt recovery and exception processing are clear, documented, monitored and delivered.
  • Ensure correct procedures, billing processes and effective collection methods are employed at all times.
  • Act as main operational point of contact with WorldPay Finance and Legal Services.
  • Manage the Control Risk Review process for the Chargebacks section ensuring all processes adhered to and correct information collated and recorded.
  • Ensure transactional processing areas are meeting service levels.
  • Constantly challenge the status quo and lead initiatives to reduce cost, simplify processes and increase quality to the customer.
  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders to challenge and improve processes across the business delivering improved customer service.
  • Lead and motivate Team Managers and their respective teams towards the achievement of unit goals and targets, including financial operating costs, absenteeism and attrition.
  • Drive high performance culture through effective performance management, capability, talent and development initiatives.
  • Lead and inspire the team to live the organisational values: Accountable, Adventurous, Empowered and Spirited.
  • Encourage creativity and innovation through entrepreneurial initiatives to encourage new ways of working
  • Successfully lead implementation of Operations transformation - policies, processes and systems

Skills & Experience

  • Fully qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA etc)
  • Proven leadership, communication and people management skills
  • Operational and process improvement experience
  • Knowledge of the Cards payment industry and operational processes
  • Understanding of complex card scheme rules and regulations
  • Six Sigma experience (to review and improve processes)
  • Able to maintain SLA's (Service Level Agreements)
  • Able to Align operations to Finance (integration of departmental workloads)
