Capacity Planning Analyst

You are responsible for the baselining (ie define metrics and baseline; analyse deviations), thresholds alerting and workload characterization.
You perform performance testing (project) and reviews capacity and performance reports (production). When the test results/reports highlight an issue, the CA explores the issue and determines whether action is required. You provide the detailed data and recommendation needed to go forward.
You design and develop Capacity Management Infrastructure (CMI) components for the gathering, computing and reporting of indicators and trends. You assist the CMI Owner in making the CMI evolved as needed.
The Capacity Planner (CP) participates in technical architecture reviews and testing to determine the most-appropriate scalable model, taking into consideration performance, availability, disaster recovery and costs.
You participate in technical discussions to incorporate performance features at design, development and test stages.
You develop capacity models.
You gather business, services and platforms data as well as forecasts, and incorporates them into capacity models.
You help to establish realistic IT budgets for the IT infrastructure, and develop cost-benefit analysis and cost estimates.
You develop (part of) the performance and capacity reports (eg capacity planning).

Your Profile:
- You are an expert in primarily IBM Mainframe systems (hardware, operating system, databases, Middleware and frameworks).
- You have a knowledge of the zSeries Architecture (LPARs, Sysplex, Coupling Facility)
- You have experience in performance analysis on IBM Mainframe
- You are team oriented and willing to share knowledge with your colleagues
- You have good communication and presentation skills (both verbal and in writing).

As a plus
- You are familiar with the capacity management process
- You are familiar with IBM Mainframe monitoring tools
- You have experience in SAS programming, MICS CMI, Tape and Storage systems, HP NSK (Tandem) systems.
- You have working experience in the Banking industry
