An exciting interim opportunity has arisen in Cambridge for a Financial Controller.

My client are a leading manufacturer looking to take someone on for 4-9 months to cover maternity leave, with a salary of up to £50,000 pa.

You will be responsible for all accounting entries for both companies in Sage and MFGPro.

Role Purpose:
* To co-ordinate month end and carry out various processes such as accruals, prepayments and reconciling balance sheet accounts.
* To report the monthly performance of the business against budget and latest re-forecast as required, and review with budget holders on a monthly basis
* To prepare and submit VAT returns on a quarterly basis and EC Sales returns
* To coordinate Corporation Tax returns, manage the tax advisors and submit all documentation in a timely manner
* Prepare weekly 13 week rolling cash-flow forecasts and submit to group finance
* To manage and develop the finance assistants responsible for the sales and purchase ledgers.
* To review monthly overheads and challenge departments heads on their spend

Person Specification

Essential:
Experience as a qualified accountant within an SME
Experience of preparing payroll information
Working in a pressurised environment, meeting tight financial reporting deadlines
Confident in using accounting and MS Office systems

Desirable:
Prior use of Sage and MFGPro
Working with an overseas group finance function
Advanced Excel skills
Prior experience of working in a similar industry
Previous experience managing finance employees
