Core duties of the role:

This is not a generic Project Manager role; it requires specific skills and experience and candidates will not be considered unless they have them. The Implementation Lead is accountable for planning, preparing and orchestrating the awareness, implementation outputs and deployment approvals, including formal governance around central proving and implementation events, such as Dress Rehearsals, Live Trials and Command and Control for Business Services Programme.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Ensure adequate communication and controls are in place to manage implementation incidents to conclusion

Core skills and experience required:

  • Experience of setting up command and control centres
  • Experience of planning and managing go-live events in a large operational environment where BAU is critical
  • Understanding of central proving events (Dress Rehearsals, Live Trials, and Trial Account Migrations) and the multiple dependencies and stakeholders involved
  • Experience of managing migration/cutover events that are occurring as part of a large scale project/programme with business rather than IT focus
  • Project management and e xperience of reporting and tracking during intense implementation periods
  • Experience of managing problems and incidents (business as well as IT) and understanding their impact on the operation
  • Experience of working on a large scale programme
  • A track record of continually assessing the progress against an agreed plan and pre-empting risk and issues
  • Experience in defining implementation governance including roles required within the project team and in other contributing impacted areas
  • Understanding of the big picture and dependencies in order to make sure that everything is joined up

Desirable Skills

Ideally will have experience of managing document services related implementations

We are looking for the following range of experience in a CV:

  • Has either worked in or very closely with the Command and Control function during the cutover execution providing status updates to stakeholders and making sure that go live threatening issues are resolved.
  • Has created and managed the Schedule of Events eg for proving events and dress rehearsals designed to minimise the risk of failure on the live migration
  • Has provided post-implementation management support (encompassing driving incident resolution and short term operational workarounds with the various business areas)
  • Has been responsible for planning and managing migration activities ensuring all quality milestones are appropriately planned and met - Has been responsible for the detailed planning and scheduling of each implementation event (live trials, dress Rehearsal)
  • This is not an IT role; the role is working in an operational area and requires an Implementation Lead to prepare for and manage a number of major implementation events that could have a significant negative impact on the business operation if not managed properly
