Senior Mainframe Performance Engineer - Our client, a leading financial organisation is looking for a Senior Mainframe Performance Engineer to join their team for a six month contract based in Brussels (head office). As Senior Mainframe Performance Engineer you work within the Capacity Management Team who ensure capacity of the current and future IT infrastructure matches demands of the group, and they cover capacity planning, demand management, capacity operations, capacity and performance engineering and capacity management infrastructure.
Senior Mainframe Performance Engineer will participate in design and technical architecture reviews of new applications and select best solution for business. You will focus on scalability, availability, disaster recovery and running costs. You will participate in performance testing and will collect and analyse appropriate technical metrics and publish results in capacity and performance report. If necessary you will identify source of issues and correct them. Senior Mainframe Performance Engineer will then recommend changes in production. You will develop capacity models for new or existing applications. You help to establish realistic IT budgets for IT infrastructure and develop cost-benefit analysis and cost estimates.
Senior Mainframe Performance Engineer skills required:
- Expert in IBM Mainframe systems and subsystems including z/OS, DB2, MQSeries, CICS, PL/1
- Strong experience in performance analysis on IBM Mainframe - systems, subsystems and applications
- Team player, happy to share knowledge with colleagues
- Familiar with capacity management processes and usage of a capacity management Datawarehouse - MICS, TDS, TDW, SAS and ITRM
- Familiar with IBM Mainframe monitoring tools - Tivoli, RMF, APA
- Banking experience
