Overview:

Our client, a major UK retail bank, requires the services of a Business Analyst, who is e xperienced in the development of Retail Basel II EL Models and has credit card migration background within retail banking. The role is working within Business Services as part of a major change programme. The Simplification programme aims to make the Group leaner and more efficient. This includes everything from products to processes and systems to structure. The Credit Cards Simplification programme will complete the integration work for the Credit Cards Business, building on the foundation set by Integration Release C and delivering the Target Operating Model of a single set of systems and processes for the Cards business.

Core duties of the role:

As part of GSR Credit Cards Back book migration we require dedicated experienced Business Analysts with both the experience of the Credit Cards Business and Migrations. The successful person will be responsible for working with the business through the analytical phases of the project to identify and describe the requirements for change. They will evaluate the business impact of these changes and ensure that they are properly tested before implementation and validated afterwards.

This specific role requires an analyst to provide support to the Cardiff Basel Modeling team for activities relating to the Simplification programme.

The specifics of this role as outlines below:

  • To perform Basel impact assessments, model calibrations and adjustments, and to support the migration of assets from one regulatory model to another
  • To support the specification, build and testing of BAU monitoring and calibration solutions for the migrated assets
  • To support the specification and testing of the model implementation and data sources
  • Perform analysis and produce documentation to support the governance process for model changes
  • Produce technical design documentation

Key Capabilities/Knowledge:

  • Extremely numerate - Educated to degree level in Maths/statistics
  • Experienced and competent in the use of SAS/SQL software - including dealing with large datasets and model development environments
  • Experienced in the development of Retail Basel II EL Models
  • Excellent report writing skills with the ability to convey complex subject matter concisely and logically
  • Good knowledge of modern Risk Management techniques within Retail Banking, and in the use of Risk models within such an environment
  • Strong pro-active attitude and approach
  • Good knowledge of the Credit Card products and business
  • Able to overcome barriers and setbacks positively with a sense of creativity and resilience
  • All of the above accountabilities/deliverables are core to the role therefore the successful candidate must have demonstrated these skills in previous roles to be considered

Desirable Skills

  • Degree in a numerative discipline - Maths/Statistics - THIS IS NOT JUST DESIRABLE BUT A REQUIREMENT OF THE ROLE
