Description
This is a contract position for a Software Development Project Manager. The contract period will run through Dec. 29, 2012, possibly longer.Responsibilities:
- Manage and validate the development and tracking of project plans including deliverables, milestones, resources, work estimates, schedule and dependencies integrating departmental sub-project plans into a master plan.
- Track the budget to the project deliverables
- Single point of contact for all customer issues
- Determining resource requirements, identifying and acquiring qualified team members to meet project deliverables
- Work with all departments to create related documentation in accordance with standards
- Execute and control the project from initiation through delivery, organizing cross-functional activities to ensure completion of the project on time and within budget
- Performing risk assessments and managing risks as well as managing changes to project scope through effective change control management
- Manage project milestones, schedules and dependencies with external customers and/or vendors
- Coordinate the customer and implementation for the customer
- Track and manage deployment of hardware/software in the system
Requirements:
- 5+ years of Software Development Project Management experience
- Strong working knowledge of software development process/methodologies and telecommunications, wireless and Wireline industries
- Strong oral and written communication skills along with the abillity to effectively interface and communicate with all levels of management
- PMP certification is preferred
- Proficiency in MS Project or similar tool, MS Word, Powerpoint, Excel and Outlook
- Experience managing multi-national team members and the challenges of shipping, installing, testing and certifying hardware and software in designated off shore data centers would be a tremendous plus
