Description
My client one of Europe's largest integrated energy companies requires an Oracle DBA to be responsible for the optimal function of the IT infrastructure, established to support all automated services within the organisation.
The department is responsible for Storage, Network, Vmware, Server- and Database management. The focus of this function is on Oracle database management (50%) and on VMware and/or Network management (50%).
Technical Skills and Competencies
- At least 3 years experience as an Oracle 10/11g DBA
- The Management of at least 10 Oracle databases
- Experience in Oracle performance tuning, backup and recovery
- Experience in VMWare (installation,monitoring, troubleshooting, recovery) and/or experience in Network security (Cisco, LAN/WAN basis, network concepts/topologies)
- Experience in Linux and Dataguard is a must
- Good English language skills (both verbal and written)
- Willingness to work the stand-by shift (once every 6 weeks)
- Interest in process optimisation and the ability to work in a procedural and structured manner

- Technical management of the various systems to guarantee continuous quality of the IT products and services
- Maintenance and analysis of the IT infrastructure
- Analysing and resolving incidents within the database, system and network field
- Providing 3rd line support
- Keeping the database, system and network environment up-to-date
- Performance & tuning, backup & restore
- Monitoring the availability, reliability, safety & continuity of the information systems
- Optimising and documenting the systems
- Implementing new IT infrastructures to support the implementation of information systems
- Process optimisation
