KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Assist Communications Infrastructure manager in all aspects of Network Operations activities to ensure a stable, efficient and sustainable Cisco-based LAN/WAN infrastructure
  • Network Monitoring: Participate in regular network health check and process review per organisational Compliance requirement.
  • Network Deployment: Install, configure, test and deploy a fully functional LAN/WAN satisfying organisational requirements. This includes the integration of new environments into the organisations core network infrastructure as required.
  • Network Support: Resolve technical issues encountered within the environment in a timely manner. Escalate to Engineering or Vendor as required.
  • Network Maintenance: Perform proactive network review and investigate solution/technology which will enhance the performance of the organisations LAN/WAN network infrastructure. Participate in global network system development, introduction and/or enhancement.
  • Network Engineering: Maintain and control local IP Addressing scheme, network design and routing protocols. Be actively involved in network technology research and development.
  • Technical documentation: Prepare and maintain Operations documentation and asset databases.
  • Business Solution: Provide technical consultancy and high-level design for specific business initiatives. This might involve the testing and modelling of new network based systems.

KEY COMPETENCIES/SKILLS

  • Advanced skills in network design, analysis and troubleshooting.
  • Hands-on experience in network deployment, configuration and testing.
  • Strong knowledge of Cisco Network hardware, software, technologies, analysers and routing protocols.
  • Ability to analyse packet capture dumps utilising wireshark
  • Experience in VoIP to support call centre operations essential
  • Large scale network deployment, relocation and troubleshooting experience
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Self starter, Team player and leadership skill
  • Quality, Service and Achievement oriented
  • Good time management skills
  • Ability to multi-task & prepared to work flexible hours
