Description
The Intel Infrastructure Architect in IBM SO Belgium has combined responsibilities. As architect, he/she designs high-availability solutions and performs quality assurance in mapping the proposed solution against the technical delivery feasibility.
In addition, he/she acts as Account System Engineer (SE) for complex Intel environments. This role includes a wide-variety of activities, startingfrom initial setup and installation to Level 4 support. The Account SE is end-to-end responsible for the Intel environment of his/her customer and acts as a focal point towards the customer.
1. Technical skills
- Server & BladeCenter HW (IBM, HP, Dell)
- Windows Operating Systems W2008 R2, W2003 and previous
- Active Directory
- Microsoft Failover Clustering
- VMWare - Citrix
- Knowledge of storage infrastructure (SAN, SVC, DS, ) and network infrastructure
- IBM server management tools (TSM, Tivoli Bluecare, TLM, TSCM
- Lumension Patchlink
- Scripting (VB, PowerShell)

- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Ability to assess risks and criticality of issues to appropriately prioritize activities
- Client oriented
- Act as senior expert and drives improvements cross account
- Good teaming and communication skills
- Able to lead a small team of technical professionals
- Basic project management skills
3. Other skills
- Fluent in English, both writing and speaking.
- Good knowledge of Dutch and/or French is a plus.
- Resistance to operational pressure
- Ability to respect procedures, to review and propose improvements
- Flexible and willing to perform planned interventions outside the official working hours
4. Participation in oncall is required (+/- 2 weeks per quarter; one week as primary oncall, one week as secondary oncall)
