We are currently looking for an experienced UNIX System Administrator for a project in Strasbourg France. This position is available through an IT Services provider.We are looking for candidates with the following profile:

Educational requirements:
  • Bachelors or Masters in IT/Engineering (or equivalent professional experience);
Professional expertise:
  • At least 5 years of work experience in the domain of UNIX system administration;
  • In-depth knowledge of UNIX OS and associated Scripting languages (Shell, ksh);
  • Source-code management;
  • Wide knowledge of IT system infrastructure;
  • Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision;
  • Excellent analytic and problem-solving skills;
  • Able to effectively prioritize tasks in a high-pressure environment.
Tasks:
  • Configure and support complex IT infrastructures;
  • Maintain all local ICT support processes and procedures
  • Manage or conduct the installation of hardware and software, system administration and backup maintenance activities, migrations & upgrades;
  • Resolve incidents, patching, Scripting, audit and disaster recovery;
  • Offer advice and training to the support team to allow them to effectively respond to error reports and user requests.
Language skills:
  • Fluent English is required;
  • French is considered a plus.
The position is offered as a freelance contract starting on the 1st of October and will run initially until the end of January 2013. Extensions thereafter are possible and will be discussed directly with the client.
