Description
Engineering and Design Lead - Project Manager / Director needed for a Worldwide Engineering & Technical Operations (WWE&TO/Owner) who intend to secure consulting services to provide Engineering and Design Lead Support for upcoming/ongoing and Affiliate projects.The current list of projects which could potentially require Engineering and Design Lead can include Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology, Consumer Products and Medical Device Manufacturing, Laboratories and lab renovations, new office and major office consolidations/renovations and renewable energy-related installations. Projects will be located in Europe (Ireland, Italy, Switserland, Belgium).
Responsibilities
-Lead the preparation of a concept package to support the business case.
-Assure appropriate SMEs/Users/Stakeholders review the concept package and provide comments.
-Assure that AE firm meets the budget and schedule and provides the deliverables requested.
-Develop Project Definition Phase (BOD)
-Lead the selection process for the Architect/Engineer including: AE RFP, Generate BOD Deliverables , Develop A/E Scope of Services
-Identify Strategic Equipment Procurement Requirements
-Identify applicable J&J or Operating Company Guidelines, Policies, and Specs
-Lead evaluation of Team, Proposals, and A/E Firm selection
-Award Contract
-Assuring preparation of each discipline`s narrative scope of work and drawings
-Assuring that the Standard Design Platforms (SDPs) are deployed
-Coordinating the Constructability Reviews between the AE and CM
-Facilitating Value Engineering Session(s)
-Assuring that all J&J and regulatory requirements are incorporated
-Ensure timely performance of Design Contractor (Architect/Engineer) including the development of:
-Critical & long lead Equipment Specifications
-Early Construction Document Packages as required
-Design development in alignment with Validation Master Plan
-Participate in the Tactical Project Execution Planning Meeting
-Review and agree to AE earned value and engineering document control (EDC) procedures
-Coordinate and lead key design reviews with internal and external Subject Matter Experts (SMEs)/Users and Stakeholders including EH&S and Quality groups.
-Drive the LEED certification process
-Support the Project Manager in the development of Master Schedule, BOD Estimate, Cost Risk Assessments (CRA), Schedule Risk Assessments
-Construction Documents and Bidding Phase (CDs)
-Construction Phase (CA)
