A global Pharmaceutical organisation requires a Senior Process Engineer to work on Greenfield Biotech Drug Substance building at their campus in the UK. Their bulk biotech production facility will be based in the UK and has major capital investment planned which has led to the creation of a Process Engineering Manager.The project is at the very conceptual stage and requires an individual who can create the Process Engineering philosophies, strategies and plans. Duties could also include:
-System owner / Client representative for biotech upstream process systems of the new build (harvest, bioreactor, fermentation etc)
-Prepare, review and approve FEED schematics
-Prepare, review and approve PFDs and detailed P&IDs
-Provide process expertise for safety reviews such as HAZOP, SIL and quality reviews for GMP, personnel and material flows etc
-Assist in the tender process of selecting the sub-contract organisations utilised
-To liaise with other site functions to resolve engineering issues related to safety, environmental impact and product quality
-Provide process engineering input to FAT and SAT activities and also assistance to prepare protocols
-Assist in the selection and specification of process equipment, including surface finishes and materials of construction
Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required:
-Chemical / Process Engineering Degree
-Experience with GMP design systems appropriate to a biotech cell culture and purification facility is essential.
-Experience must include all phases of a large engineering project in the biopharmaceutical industry (concept design through qualification).
-Working knowledge of control systems would be advantageous
