We’re looking for a freelance front-end developer. Your primary focus will be to assist in the development of websites as well as to work directly with our designers, writers, strategists and clients.
We are Nelson Cash, a design studio focused on creating digital experiences for startups and established brands. Our projects run the gamut, from marketing websites to entire web applications. We’re looking for someone who is enthusiastic about the web in all aspects of development and design. Who sees what they do as a passion rather than a job. Someone who is constantly looking to improve quality, processes and practices. Someone who should be excited to try new techniques and is not afraid to take on new challenges.
You have:
- The ability to communicate efficiently and effectively with your peers.
- The ability to manage expectations as well as deadlines.
- An absolute attention to detail and the understanding of why it matters.
- An eye for good design.
- An excitement for the web and its rapid growth of possibilities.
You're proficient in:
- HTML5
- CSS3
- JavaScript
- Responsive Web Design
Your days will include:
- Translating Photoshop PSDs to standards-based semantic markup that works across a variety of browsers and mobile devices.
- Building front-end templates for content-management systems such as Wordpress.
- Traveling back in time to create HTML emails.
- Stopping into the studio from time to time.
Big pluses:
- Experience with Test Driven Development, Agile Development, or Unit Testing
- Authenticating with OAuth and using APIs from services like Facebook and Twitter
- Data exchange formats such as JSON
- CoffeeScript
You’re even more awesome if you:
- Really like beer
- Have a sense of humor
- Are active in the local design community
We’d love to see:
- An online portfolio of your work as well as explinations as to what your role was on the project
- Any profiles on Github, Forrst, Dribbble, Behance, etc.
