Description

The Reporting Specialist is required to develop, maintain and enhance a suite of complex reports in SQLServer 2005 and 2008 Reporting Services. Liaise with business users to gather reporting requirements.

Daily Requirements:

  • Develop, enhance and deploy reports using SQLServer Reporting Services
  • Prepare SQLServer reporting impact change analysis and coordinate work through the change management process.
  • Design SQLServer report changes to support enhancements.
  • Promote and implement SQLServer report changes across environments (software configuration management).
  • Develop, manage and maintain report distribution using SharePoint and email.
  • Provide user runtime support for SQLServer Reports.
  • Perform "as required" analysis to support Business Intelligence activities in a research environment.
  • Optimisation of report SQL for performance.
  • Provide input into capacity planning regarding SQLServer reports resource utilisation.
  • Manage and maintain all SQLServer report standards and templates.
  • Provide problem investigation support and rectification.
  • Plan and implement product upgrades as required.Prepare and maintain relevant documentation.
Skills Required:
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server, SQLServer Reporting Services, developing and maintaining a report suite across high data volume SQLServer databases.
  • Advance SQL knowledge and experience.
  • Experience in SQLServer and SQL Query performance tuning, SQLServer stored procedures and triggers, logical and physical relational database design and implementation techniques.
  • Experience with complex report requirements, geo spatial report development.
  • Relevant experience with providing detailed engineering support (level 3) as part of a technical support team.
  • Demonstrated understanding of software development life cycles and software configuration management
  • Ability to perform these duties in a Microsoft Windows server and desktop environment.
