Description
My central government client is looking for a skilled Finance Officer for a 8 week contract.
This role will require the contract to:
* Managing invoice processing and payment, supplier statement reconciliation, following up supplier queries and maintaining the invoice filing system.
* Assisting with managing the requisition and purchase order process ensuring that purchasing procedures and financial delegations are followed.
* Managing debit card, credit card and petty card transactions on a monthly basis, ensuring that all transactions are posted into Sage correctly.
* Maintaining the Fixed Asset Register
* Upholding financial controls
Essential
* Good knowledge of Sage 200 particularly purchase ledger processing and account maintenance
* Intermediate Excel
* Understanding of the importance of financial policies and procedures
* Confidence dealing with Charts of Accounts and Project Ledger coding
* Common sense approach to working
* Willingness to understand the business (during handover training)
* General understanding of how accounts are produced
* Confidence dealing with budget managers
* Ability to work to deadlines
* Excellent English (written and oral)

* Experience of working in a large complex organisation
* Experience of providing advice to staff across all levels of the organisation
* Some analytical skills
