Description
Objective: My client is an international bank, based in Brussels. The official language at the bank is English. Their UNIX Technical Services team is responsible for the 3rd level support of over 500 IBM AIX, Sun Solaris and Red Hat Linux Servers running various applications. The team is also responsible for architectural designs for projects using UNIX as well as accountable and responsible for the stability of UNIX environments.
Tasks:
- Provide 3rd level support of all IBM AIX based Servers within the bank.
- Investigate and resolve Incident and Request Tickets.
- Review and sign-off documentation for Projects that requires AIX environments.
- Produce documentation (Architectural Designs) for new projects that requires AIX environments.
- Participate with project teams, configuration/change requests and other essential meetings required for production stability.
- Participate with the evolution of AIX by testing new products and patches.
- There is some WatchDuty (on-call) required in this role.
- Some travel across the bank's sites may be required (London, Paris, Brussels) for meetings.
Essential Skills/Experience:
- Operating systems/software: (IBM AIX 5.x, 6.x; IBM VIOS 2.x, IBM HACMP, TCP/IP Networking;
- Software and Hardware RAID Products, automated system builds via NIM, Enterprise backup software (Tivoli Storage Manager, etc.);
- Hardware: (knowledge of IBM P-Series hardware families)
- Security tools and concepts (SSH, SSL, PKI, etc.);
WEB/E-business technologies (LDAP, Apache, WebSphere, etc.);
Ideally you will have worked on large complex projects, in the banking/finance sector in a controlled environment where compliance and tight change control procedures are in place.

- Oracle, IBM MQSeries, Sterling Commerce Connect:Direct for Unix/NT;
- NetIQ Monitoring/Security Manager, PowerBroker v6.x, Quest Authentification Services (QAS) v4.x
