The client I am representing is currently looking for a Production Quality Engineer on a 12 month fixed term contract due to an increase in demand. They are a leading electro-mechanical company supplying into various industries and are looking for a hands-on engineer to be responsible for the successful introduction of new products into manufacturing at the assembly facility and at the company's suppliers.
The responsibilities of the role are;
*Successful introduction of new products into manufacturing at the assembly facility and at our suppliers.
*Design and arrange manufacture of assembly aids, test equipment and assembly cells that may be required for new or existing products.
*Coordinate and support the transfer of in house assembly to sub contract supply if required.
*Ensure that assembly processes deliver appropriate product quality.
*Resolve assembly problems with existing products working closely with the Vendor Quality team and suppliers.
*Improve the overall productivity of the assembly department.
*Initiate and support continuous improvement projects using appropriate improvement tools and techniques.
*Design and implement assembly layouts to optimise material flow and maximise efficiency.
The requirements for the role are;
*Broad engineering background,
*2D & 3D CAD experience,
*Experience of Lean, MTO, JIT, Manufacturing Systems
*Assembly Cell Design,
*Experience with Design For Manufacture,
*NPI Experience.
