Job description
- Build technical plans, based on product specifications input from the Storage Solutions Product Management.
- Evaluate and validate server hardware & software components.
- Evaluate and validate storage hardware & software components.
- Evaluate and validate networking hardware & software components.
- Integrate individual system-level software components.
- Perform advanced system tuning (operating system, file systems, storage components).
- Plan, define, and perform unit testing, and report about tests results.
- Create or maintain technical documentation.
- Solve system-level issues.
- Identify risks and discuss them with the Quality Assurance team, in order to build adequate test plans.
- Provide work estimates for the tasks assigned to you.
- Perform adequate and timely reporting of your daily work and assigned tasks.
- Follow established procedures related to the development life cycle process.
Profile
- Deep knowledge of Linux operating system Kernel (especially I/O subsystems, schedulers, VFS).
- Excellent Linux administration skills.
- Good knowledge of Servers' hardware architecture and components.
- Knowledge of XFS, StorNext file systems would be an asset.
- Knowledge of networking interfaces and protocols would be an asset.
- System-level knowledge (I/O subsystem, networking) of MS Windows (Server 2003, 2008; XP, 7, 8) and Mac OS X would be an asset.
- Excellent analytical skills.
