Risk SME - Banking - Risk Analyst

A leading Retail Bank based in London/Edinburgh/Jersey is seeking a Risk SME to work on a complex project, which offers the opportunity to work with senior level professionals in a highly respected organisation.

The purpose of the role is to support the project delivery under the oversight of the Risk Function, key responsibilities will include:

  • Alteration of the current risk oversight structure to meet the requirements of the 2 businesses
  • Development of the Governance framework to reflect 2 distinct businesses
  • Design of information barriers and ring fencing arrangements
  • Provision of Regulatory advice
  • Approval of and input into client communications
  • Identification and challenge re conflicts of interest
  • Input into legal advice and cross border advice
  • Ensuring legal advice on fund mergers is followed correctly
  • Conduct risk
  • Operational risk
  • Review of nominee service, client take on etc to ensure compliant
  • Meeting attendance and input
  • Review and challenge of procedures

To be considered for this role you must be able to demonstrate the following skills within financial services:

  • 5 years Financial Services, at least three within a Risk function
  • Private Banking experience
  • Technical/Specialist knowledge
  • Risk oversight policy, frameworks and planning
  • Ability to interpret requirements from business, operational and other functional leads and articulate in documentation and process flow diagrams
  • Ability to apply knowledge and experience to ensure documentation fully meets the requirements of the internal customers
  • Experience in working with and influencing senior stakeholders
  • The ability to work as part of a team
  • The ability to self-manage across a wide range of tasks
  • As well as proven experience on a large scale programme within a banking environment.
