Description

Rullion IT Plus are currently looking to recruit a Project Manager to work for an Educational body in Manchester city centre.

The successful candidate would ideally have had some commercial experience in preparing for and writing plans in order to bid for contracts.

The role holder will be responsible for professionally undertaking a number of the following activities, as necessary to meet business needs and to facilitate personal development. This may from time to time extend to other activities not specifically listed here which are consistent with the objectives of the department and commensurate with the skills and experience of the role holder.
1. To ensure that all projects assigned to the role holder meet business needs and are delivered within the agreed quality, time and budget parameters. These will include large, complex, high-cost and high-risk projects in potentially challenging stakeholder environments.
2. To develop, maintain and promote effective and positive working relationships with all those involved in the successful delivery of the project and its benefits. This will include, for example, the recipients of the project, the developers of the systems, internal and external delivery partners plus project boards and teams.
3. To work closely with colleagues to drive the assigned projects forward and to ensure that any issues impeding progress are identified and resolved in a timely way.
4. To be accountable for the progress of all elements within the assigned projects, leading and motivating project teams effectively to deliver the agreed outcomes (to the agreed time, cost and quality criteria).
5. To ensure best utilisation of resources and practices in achieving project goals.
6. To ensure that due diligence is undertaken in relation to any changes made to products and processes so that procedures and codes of practice are not compromised.
7. To ensure that communication between all parties involved in delivering the assigned project/change is effective, complete, timely and robust (for example, in relation to progress, risks or resources).
8. To be responsible for the maintenance of all relevant project plans and documentation in an easily accessible and concise manner.
9. To maintain ownership of assigned projects until the intended outcomes have been achieved or a managed transfer of this ownership has been finalised.
10. To contribute to setting standards of performance for the department, the scheduling of operations, reviews of progress and the training and development of colleagues.
11. To contribute to the development of the positive behaviour performance criteria and to adhere to these at all times.
