1 Function:The Field Engineer will report to the Integration manager and will be part of a team that is responsible for the Telecom Implementation in the Radio Network.

The Field Engineer will:

  • Give technical (if necessary hands-on) assistance to other Field Engineers to carry out complex operations or solve difficult network problems in close collaboration with the specialists of equipment.
  • Keep track of latest developments on software tools, hardware tools and test equipment for maintenance of the Radio Network and advice the Team leader.
  • Perform complex troubleshooting on daily basis in the roll-out environment with a focus on preventative actions and quality improvement.
  • Supporting Competence Center in writing specifications, and implement them.
  • Work closely together with other departments for the implementation of Network Elements and systems (RF-engineering, Fixed network planning and the O&M department) in the Radio Network.
  • Provide training to other Field Engineers and Contractors.
  • Support and improve operational procedures and reporting structures as well as work methods set out by the Team leader.
  • Commit to the health and safety regulations applicable in the Netherlands.

All other duties as required Experience/Skills

  • Several years of operational experience with GSM Radio Networks (BTS, BSC, TCSM).
  • Excellent knowledge of and operational experience with Nokia Radio Network Elements and uWave transmission equipment.
  • Excellent knowledge of Nokia Radio Network software tools.
  • User knowledge of the applicable network management systems.
  • Basic knowledge of optical fibre systems.
  • Knowledge of the relevant test & measuring equipment for the Radio Network Elements and transmission.
  • Not afraid of heights, physically able and willing to climb high constructions.

Experience/Skills
