Description

The GRADE team requires experienced electronics design engineers to apply world class design and analysis skills to improve Jaguar Land Rover's capability to deliver in-house electronic designs and to intensively review the designs of our suppliers. The objective is to deliver levels of reliability and robustness exceeding anything that we have seen before. Arrival of the right people will immediately provide input into elimination of defects on 13, 14, 15, 16 and 17MY and accelerate progress on in house designs for future model years.

Skills Required:
"This will require people with design skills, tenacity, self discipline, flexibility and good interpersonal skills. Design skills are required in switch mode power supplies, power switching, microcontrollers, memories, high speed network interfaces, RF design, analogue and digital circuit design, EMC. The successful candidate will need to have a good appreciation of design for the automotive environment. An appreciation of system level issues and software is required."

Skills Preferred:
Knowledge of C, Assembler and the software development cycle (preferred but not necessary for candidates with otherwise good skills).

Experience Required:
"The successful candidate will have designed the hardware for more than one electronic product, least one of which was for a vehicle application and will have experienced putting the design into production. He/she will have a wide knowledge of electronic devices and circuits and their application, including power devices, microcontrollers, switch mode power supplies, RF circuits, analogue and digital circuits and design for EMC. The successful candidate will probably be regarded by colleagues as the person who they consult when they have design issues. Those who do not have the above skills must not apply.
