We are currently recruiting for Structural Engineers who are capable of producing designs in all main materials and forms of construction with a minimum of supervision to support our London based multi-disciplinary rail premises design team.

Requirements

Qualifications

- BEng/BSc/MEng/MSc in Civil/Structural Engineering

- Corporate Membership of the Institution of Civil Engineers

Or

- Corporate Membership of the Institution of Structural Engineers

Essential Criteria

- Design of structures in reinforced concrete, structural steelwork and masonry including adoption of computer based design/analytical programmes
- Ability to deliver to programme, budget and quality constraints
- Ability to supervise CAD technicians
- Surveying and inspection of existing structures
- Analytical assessment of existing structures
- Familiarity with the requirements of the CDM Regulations
- Competent use of Microsoft Office Suite

Desirable Criteria

- Design of structures in timber
- Design of structures in prestressed and/or precast concrete
- Work on rail industry projects and familiarity with relevant standards
- Conversant with low carbon design principles
- Familiarity with working in a heavily regulated environment

Responsibilties

- Production of designs in all major civil/structural engineering materials
- Scoping of surveys/investigations
- Survey/inspection of structures
- Assessment of existing structures
- Report writing
- Check/review of designs
- Supervision of CAD technicians

- Endeavours to produce high quality deliverables in terms of visual appearance and accuracy
- Good command of the English Language and an effective communicator, both written and oral

Additional Information

- On occasion must be prepared to work during nights or weekends
- Must abide by rail industry Drugs and Alcohol policy

Initial 3-6 Month contract
